COTI is a next-generation blockchain-based payment platform that facilitates the creation of payment solutions. The project originated back in 2016, and its mainnet went live in 2019. Its co-founders, fintech specialists Samuel Falkon and David Assaraf, were inspired by Satoshi Nakamoto’s idea of a peer-to-peer payment network and are based in Tel Aviv, Israel. The platform aims to solve the issues that are often associated with blockchain technology and include instability, lack of scalability, and complexity.
COTI helps companies to create advanced fintech solutions while simultaneously saving time and money. COTI Pay performs quick and safe payments, the Whitelabel payment network allows the creation of a proprietary payment system with lower fees and greater control, and the blockchain-based loyalty networks increase profits and customer retention. COTI is built on Trustchain and utilizes a Proof-of-Trust consensus mechanism which is technically the product of Trustchain’s directed acyclic graph and Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism. COTI, the native token of the network, is live on three mainnets including Trustchain, Ethereum, and BNB Chain. It is used to pay transaction fees and for staking, however, COTI holders can also access the COTI Bridge.
In August 2022, COTI announced that MultiDAG 2.0 Hard Fork Testnet is live. The said hard fork will allow the network to switch to a multi-token layer. Along with the testnet, COTI has also launched the new COTI Explorer which provides users with access to stats concerning Trustchain.
