Celsius Suffers Data Breach, Its Customers’ Emails Leaked to a Third Party

On Thursday, a prominent crypto lender Celsius revealed that some of its customer data was subject to a data breach.

As it turns out, one of the Customer.io employees accessed the list of Celsius’ clients’ emails and transferred them to a third party. Celsius officials didn’t disclose the number of affected users and assured its customers that the incident didn’t present any high risks.

Popular NFT marketplace OpenSea has confirmed that its user data was leaked by the same email partner Customer.io. Earlier this month, Customer.io officials said that it had already taken measures to prevent such incidents and fired the responsible employee.

To avoid risks of having your personal information compromised, we encourage you to use non-custodial crypto services such as ChangeNOW.
